Love the old times blues and bluegrass, such passion and earthiness! If you haven’t seen it, the wonderful sepia-toned Coen Brothers film, O Brother Where Art Thou, brings this world to life (with a fantastic appropriate soundtrack). Also go pick up Alan Lomax Library of Congress compilations for the original recordings of some of the really old blues - so atmospheric. https://www.amazon.com/Alan-Lomax-Songbook-Various-Artists/dp/B0000C9JDA
David, this is a great post on specific music history. Do others and pitch it to Netflix!

I listened to the Minnie track. I could hear so many other songs that "borrowed" or were inspired by her style.
What a great band! Thanks for sharing this. I'm gonna have a great time listening to them. They really do capture the spirit of that old time music.
I forgot to mention. I’m hearing Tuba Skinny from my wife’s phone almost every day. :)
